5:36 pm - 012. admonishment
[Hexed to Death Eaters - prying eyes will cause the victim's journal to attempt to bite their hand and/or face off]

Hopefully the death of the Wilkes girl has taught us not to act like foolish children. Particularly the children among our ranks.

10:00 pm - 011. praise
[Violently hexed to Death Eaters]

I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate the Carrows on some of the best work among our ranks in recent days.

9:25 pm - 009. failure
[Private to Lord Voldemort - extremely strong hex, shoots a column of flame that will both incinerate the journal and hopefully burn the face of anyone who tries to read]

My Lord, the blame for our failure rests solely on my shoulders. No matter who it was that set off the alarm, I should have kept better control of my men. I submit myself to your will.

12:49 am - 008. preparation
[Strongly private to Death Eaters - breaker's hair sets on fire and page crumbles to dust]

Jugson, Gibbon, Macnair, I trust you will be on time on time and prepared. I am aware it is early yet, but this sort of operation only benefits from advanced planning.

[Private to Lord Voldemort and Bellatrix]

If I may be so bold, perhaps the Wilkes girl ought to be disposed of, if Bellatrix is through toying with her.

[Private to self, same hex]

I do not want a repeat of the Woods affair.

3:42 pm - 007. ire
[Strongly hexed to Death Eaters (minus Maude) - designed to spew acid at any others who try to read]

I do hope the Wilkes girl is being kept under lock and key. I do not trust her not to give away our entire organisation. The work we did yesterday was good, but our larger goal is far from accomplished. We cannot fail the Dark Lord because of a silly girl who forgot to wear her mask.

4:18 pm - 006. salesmanship
While I am aware that Hogwarts students do not comprise a particularly large segment of my body of customers, I have decided to offer a ten per cent discount on all items in my store, Marginalia Rare Books and Antiques, 79 Diagon Alley, London, for the duration of the Easter holiday. I have recently received a large shipment of eighteenth century Eastern European texts from a colleague in Prague. I do hope that those fascinated by the written word will take the time to peruse my inventory.

8:28 pm - 005. discovery
[Strongly hexed to Death Eaters - designed so that the journal will explode if the hex is broken]

A warning to my fellow Knights:

This evening I overheard a pair of aurors speaking in my shop. It seems our dear Ministry has discovered that this journal system may be used for private discourse, and they seemed particularly worried that we might be operating through it. Evidently the Department of Magical Law Enforcement has developed some sort of spell or item in the vein of the Foe Glass that detects hidden magic, such as that used to hide discourse on these pages.

Therefore I must beseech all of my comrades to practice extreme caution when using this journal system to communicate their business in the service of the Dark Lord. Make certain your hexes are top quality, and make certain that if they are broken, whoever allowed their curiosity to overpower them does not escape unscathed.
